Tierra Smith is an award-winning journalist, speaker, and world traveler. She is passionate about storytelling and uplifting the voices of women and marginalized communities.

 

Tierra is the Social Media Editor for BLACK ENTERPRISE, the #1 Black digital media brand. She is responsible for designing social media graphics, planning and scheduling news content and creating native content across media channels with a collective 1.4 million followers. She also develops content strategies for corporate partners, sponsors, and the editorial team.

Tierra has earned a Master of Communication from Louisiana State University and a B.A. in Mass Communications from Grambling State University. She served as the editor-in-chief of The Gramblinite and secured prominent internships at the Salt Lake Tribune, the Denver Post, and the Tampa Bay Times. Tierra was also named Student Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists in 2015.

While attending graduate school at LSU, Tierra accepted a work-study assignment at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Her duties included writing press releases and news articles, establishing social media guidelines, and serving as the adviser to the new student-run magazine.​
